Wall—to—Wall

February 21, 2018 @ 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Sound artists Peter Maunu and Ryan Packard and visual artist Nelly Agassi collaborate to perform a nontraditional concert.  Using the walls, amplification, and a long wire bisecting the gallery, the artists transform architectural space designed by architect, Doug Garofalo into a musical instrument.

Wall—to—Wall

(Composition for one wire, two walls and a room)

A room is divided in half and connected lengthwise

at shoulder height, by a long, thin wire. Hollow wooden walls at either end resonate like shells of a drum or a body of a violin, transforming architectural space into a sound generating instrument. Tension of structure and silence is broken by amplification of manipulations of the dividing line.
