MAKE TOGETHER is an opportunity for four (4) teams of alums from Center Program to create collaborative works that collide art forms and address important topics. Collaborations can artists who know each other and have worked together, or artists who will be trying something for the first time together.
This project aims to (1) support the creation of new work, (2) address timely topics, (3) push artists to connect with peers while colliding art forms, and (4) connect works with a public audience. Teams of two will be compensated with a stipend of $200 per artist, along with a $100 supply stipend, for a total of $500 per team. There are no restrictions, teams will be chosen based on demonstrated capacity to address a theme, complete the project by October 1st, 2020, and present works to a public audience.
There will be a total of four (4) teams chosen, deadline to apply is end of day Monday July 20th, 2020. Applicants will be notified by Monday July 27th. Applications should present a vision for not just a project, but also a plan to (1) collaborate, (2) combine art forms, (3) address a social issue, and (4) complete and share the work. Make Together will culminate this program with a presentation either in person at Hyde Park Art Center or online, TBD based on how the summer guidelines progress. Documentation will be a key part of this work, and is the only requirement that teams will have to submit once project is complete. Teams of two (2) artists can APPLY BELOW!
