Through Public Programming, Hyde Park Art Center serves as a hub of exploration, relevant conversations, and ideas for people of all communities and ages. We seek to be a fresh and forward-thinking space for today and tomorrow’s creative voices in our local and broader communities across Chicago and beyond.
CENTER SUNDAY

Every First Sunday of the month, Hyde Park Art Center is activated with activities throughout the center for the public, neighbors, and families. Join us for the next Virtual Center Sunday on March 7th from 1-5pm for a family friendly filled day with intergenerational art making activities, artist workshops, artist talks, open studios, curatorial tours of our exhibitions, and community collaborations.
PAST EVENTS
For February’s Center Sundays our Hyde Park Art Center teens were front and center — all programs were curated by our Youth Art Board.
Check out this virtual event celebrating local artists, activists, and makers who embody the spirit of MLK, justice and visibility, through film screenings, conversations, and presentations about movements close to home in our dear city of Chicago!
Check out this conversation between artists and educators Christopher K. Ho and Abigail DeVille presented jointly by Hyde Park Art Center and Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). This is the first of our new series Residencies Connect featuring current and alumni resident artists having timely discussions on their practices, approach to making, and underlying themes. Chris and Abigail will join us to discuss the intersections of their diverse practices.
