Kara Cobb Johnson will lead an artist talk in Gallery 1 around her work, followed by a live experience of over 3,000 colored Water Jewels bouncing down two flights of stairs. This event will be filmed and documented.

Join Center Program artists who will each talk about their works in the Front and Center exhibition and answer questions about their practice.
Center Program artist Kunal Sen – a trained computer scientist – will participate in an open forum to discuss age old questions associated with his latest series “Life 2.0”. The conversation will revolve around questions such as “What is life?” “Can there be artificial life?” “Can machines really think and what is consciousness?”
On Thursday September 17th Regin Igloria begins his performance walk to the Outhaus in Urbana, IL. Guests are welcome to participate in a ceremonial launch at Hyde Park Art Center on the 17th. A drawing performance will occur on Sunday, September 20 upon his arrival in Urbana.
